ABSTRACT
We examine how to link two approaches for resonance width calculations, in a situation of crossing of two diatomic molecular potentials. One is the semiclassical formalism of Child. The other is Fano's configuration interaction approach leading to the Fermi golden rule. We build a case where the vanishing of the width in the two formalisms can be reduced to the same conditions.
