Studies of multi-channel resonances by the complex scaling method

Abstract

The complex scaling procedure is applied to the nuclear motion Schrödinger equation within the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. It is shown that by use of this method one can obtain: the vibrationally averaged positions and widths of the autoionization resonances whenever the predissociation channel is ignored; the positions and widths of the predissociation resonance whenever the autoionization channel is ignored; the total widths and positions of the resonances for the two-channel process.
