Abstract
Fermi resonance is viewed as an intramolecular coupling of two modes. The set of isolated molecules in which the Fermi resonance occurs is disturbed by the intermolecular interaction. For such a system a derivation of the expression for the vibrational correlation function, which is based on the cumulant expansion theorem, is presented. Applying this general expression we have calculated the Fermi resonance spectra in the fast modulation limit.
