SUMMARY
In this report several fungi sometimes associated with needle blights of certain Pinaceae are studied. The union of Meliola balsamicola Pk., Dimerosporium abietis Dearn., Dimeriella tsugae (Dearn.) Petr., Dimeriella pseudotsugae Mill. & Bon., and Dimeriella terrieri Petr. in Terr., into one species, Dimeriella balsamicola (Pk.) Petr., is proposed.
The name Meliola abietis (Cke.) Sacc. (basionym: Apiosporium abietis Cke.) is rejected because it is based on a mixture of Atichia ?glomerulosa and a dematiaceous or capnodiaceous fungus.
A new asterinaceous fungus is partly described. Because of its abundant, two-celled mycelial conidia it probably represents an unde- scribed genus close to Asterina and Clypeolella, but in the absence of mature ascospores no complete diagnosis or name can be provided.
