Soil Fungi from the Alpine Zone of the Medicine Bow Mountains, Wyoming

SUMMARY

A qualitative study of soil fungi from an alpine area of Wyoming has been done. This is the first such study reported from the United States. Thirty-two species of fungi were isolated of which 7 species were Phycomycetes, 3 Ascomycetes, and 22 Fungi Imperfecti. One new species, Mucor saximontensis, and one new variety, Gliocladium roseum var. viride are described.
