SUMMARY
Somatic nuclear divisions of Ceratobasidium flavescens and Pellicularia koleroga were studied with the HCl-Giemsa technique. Nuclear divisions in both species were found to be mitotic. Chromosomes, metaphase plates, and spindles complete with centrioles were present; the results obtained indicate that the haploid chromosome number of these taxa is six.
