SUMMARY

Homogenized and centrifuged mycelial extracts of Arthrobotrys musiformis, suggested the presence of a nematode attraction substance(s) after the fungus had developed predaceous structures. Initial investigations determined that the nematode attraction substance(s) was: (1) concentration dependent, (2) not a common plant growth regulator or cyclic-AMP, (3) inactivated by acid or base treatment, and (4) separated from the crude fungal extract by paper chromatography. A substance having nematode attraction activity was also isolated from Monacrosporium doedycoides.
