SUMMARY
During the first division of meiosis in the asci of Pyronema domesticum the nucleolus is retained within the nuclear envelope and migrates to one pole. The nucleolus is expelled from the nucleus into the cytoplasm as a single unit during early metaphase of the second division of meiosis and the post-meiotic mitotic division. In all three nuclear divisions in the ascus, the nucleolus persists until anaphase, or possibly until telophase.
