Seventeen species of freshwater hyphomycetes were isolated from streams in the Hawaiian Islands. The islands of Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii were surveyed. Ten of the species are new records for Hawaii. The distribution of the aquatic hyphomycetes and their possible modes of transport to the Hawaiian Islands are discussed.
