Corrigendum

Corrigendum

This article refers to:
Disentangling cryptic species with isaria-like morphs in Cordycipitaceae

In the published version of the article “Disentangling cryptic species with isaria-like morphs in Cordycipitaceae” by Mongkolsamrit et al., Mycologia 110(1): 230–257, 2018, the basionym for the new combination Samsoniella alboaurantium was inadvertently incomplete on p. 248. As a consequence, the proposed new combination is invalid based on Art. 41.5 of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi and plants.

This combination is validated here, with a necessary change to the spelling of the epithet. The date of valid publication for this name should thus be 10 July 2018 rather than 4 June 2018 when the original paper was published.

Samsoniella alboaurantia (G. Sm.) Mongkolsamrit, Noisripoom, Thanakitpipattana, Spatafora & Luangsa-ard, comb. nov.

MycoBank MB 826750

Penicillium alboaurantium G. Sm. [as ‘albo-aurantium’], Trans Br Mycol Soc. 40:484. 1957. Basionym.

Note that the MycoBank number above refers specifically to this validating publication and is different from the MycoBank number published for the invalid combination.

We regret this error and request that this name be cited with reference to the present corrigendum for formal nomenclatural purposes. We are grateful to Dr. Konstanze Bensch of MycoBank for pointing out this oversight.
