Some bud-transmissible disorders of Prunus

Pages 255-259 | Received 14 Apr 1975, Published online: 30 Jan 2012

Abstract

Apricot chlorotic leaf mottle, peach yellow mottle, and peach chlorotic spot, three recently detected bud-transmissible disorders of Prunus, developed characteristic leaf symptoms on seedlings of the peach cv. ‘Golden Queen’. The first disorder affected growth of the apricot cv. ‘Moorpark’ and was latent in the apricot cv. ‘Trevatt’. The second was latent in ‘Moorpark’ and the third was latent in the nectarine cv. ‘Le Grand’. Attempted transmission of the three dborders to herbaceous hosts was unsuccessful.
