Severe hailstorms: A factor in the ecology of the indigenous forests of New Zealand

Abstract

Severe hailstorms are known to cause damage to both natural and planted forests, and may lead to tree death. Attention is drawn to the potential for severe hailstorms to induce mortality in indigenous forests.
