Abstract

From native and introduced tree species growing in the North Island of New Zealand, a number of potential wood-staining fungi were isolated and studied. One wood-staining Pyrenomycete, three wood-staining Coelomycetes, and twelve wood-staining Hyphomycetes were investigated, including Hyalopesotum pini sp. nov. and Mammariopsis gen. nov. (type species Mammariopsis variospora sp. nov.).
