Abstract
Eight species of zoosporic fungi (Catenophlyctis variabilis, Karlingia rosea, Cladochytrium tenue, Rhizophlyctis mastigotrichis, Chytriomyces hyalinus, Saprolegnia ferax, S. diclina, and Phythium monospermum) were isolated from soil and water samples collected on subantarctic Campbell Island. All are new records for the New Zealand subantarctic islands, and two (R. mastigotrichis and S. diclina) have not yet been recorded from mainland New Zealand.
