SUMMARY
The article gives a short survey of investigation with Rorschach, with following discussion. It has been found that research to this day has not given unambiguous results, and it may be discussed to what extent research on the whole has been representative in order to explain the importance of the test at large.
The results of the investigations, which to date are comprehensive, clearly show, however, that the Rorschach-test cannot be interpreted automatically, as this might easily give misleading results, but give no answer as to whether the individual psychologist can attain a relevant overall picture.
The element of risk in this latter situation opens up the possibility of a “wild interpretation”, which is believed partly to be connected with uncritical “wild application” of the results. Suggestions are given for what is meant by “wild application”, and it is discussed how one might restrict this and thus be able to write a more relevant report.
