The relationship between the performance of challenging out-of-school activities and real-world talent in art, drama, social leadership and dance was examined in four separate studies of high school students in Grades 9-12. Talent in each of the four domains was evaluated both psychometrically and authentically. The predictor was the psychometric assessment of talent in art, drama, dance and social leadership based on the Tel Aviv Activities and Accomplishments Inventory. The criterion, an authentic assessment of talent in each domain, consisted of independent evaluations by two expert judges of actual performance in the domain. The strong relationship between the predictor and the criterion in each of the four talent domains demonstrated the concurrent validity of the Tel Aviv Activities and Accomplishments Inventory and provides a useful tool to be used by guidance counselors in school settings.
