Abstract
Body armor is generally divided into two types, soft body armor and hard body armor. Hard body armor is composed of ceramic or metal plates that function similar to that of iron suits worn by medieval knights. Typically, thickness is the gauge of the extent of “punching power” the armor can withstand with the hard body armor pushing out on the projectile with about the same force the projectile is pushing in. The armor is sufficient as long as it is not penetrated, but it is heavy, uncomfortable, and inflexible.
