Abstract
Expanding global production and consumption of plastic materials together with increasing public awareness of environmental issues have created serious concerns about the problems related to disposal of plastic waste. New technological developments of environmentally degradable plastics are making a highly effective contribution to the environmental issues in a number of sectors. Novel products and materials that meet consumer demand and concern for proper disposal are today’s important targets for basic and applied research.
