Fertility Control With Drugs

, M.D.
Pages 82-86 | Published online: 16 May 2016

Abstract

Doubts about the safety of the oral contraceptives have spurred a search for better agents for fertility control. One approach is to use “minidoses” of a progestogen alone, without estrogen. Another is to give an injection of estrogen-progestogen once a month or an injection of progestogen once every 90 days. Among other developments under study is the use of “morning-after” pills.
