Abstract
Pulmonary scintigraphy is best known for its value in detecting acute pulmonary embolism. Regional perfusion and ventilation studies using radionuclides are also finding new applications, such as evaluation of lung cancer before surgery and assessment of therapy in chronic bronchitis.
