The passionate negation: The chartist movement in rhetorical perspective

Abstract

A movement can be studied rhetorically through an investigation of rhetorical imperatives, strategic indicators, patterns of advocacy and reaction, and influential relationships. The perspective which this examination of Chartism provides suggests that the unique rhetorical approach to movements may be grounded in perception and interpretation of events.
