Pliny, a neglected roman rhetorician

The most important rhetorician between Quintilian and Fronto, Pliny the Younger helped to perpetuate the classicism of his teacher, Quintilian. Nevertheless, Pliny's ideas on rhetoric, as expressed in his Letters, show the influence of the Modernist controversy, the oratory of his own times, and his own individuality.
