ABSTRACT
Extending the FLQ formula: a location quotient-based interregional input–output framework. Regional Studies. The regionalization of national input–output tables is a major issue in regional science as corresponding regional data are often unavailable. In this paper, a framework is developed to estimate intra- and interregional input–output tables. The intraregional estimates are based on the well-known FLQ method. The interregional estimates are constructed using gravity modelling to account for factors like geographic distance between regions. The derived (initial) estimates are embedded in an interregional accounting framework that ensures consistency of regional values with the national aggregates. The framework is applied to the German economy of 2010. The relationship between the FLQ formula and the estimated amount of interregional trade in intermediates, the amount of interregional cross-hauling, and the regional distribution of output multipliers is highlighted.

RÉSUMÉ
Étendre la formule FLQ: un cadre interrégional des entrées-sorties fondé sur un quotient de localisation. Regional Studies. La régionalisation des tableaux nationaux des entrées-sorties constitue une question primordiale pour la science régionale parce que souvent les données régionales correspondantes ne sont pas disponibles. Cet article cherche à développer un cadre afin d’estimer des tableaux des entrées-sorties intra et interrégionaux. Les estimations intrarégionales sont basées sur la formule FLQ bien connue. Les estimations interrégionales sont construites à partir d’un modèle de gravité pour tenir compte des facteurs tels la distance géographique entre les régions. Les (premières) estimations calculées sont ancrées dans un cadre comptable qui assure la cohérence des valeurs régionales avec les agrégats de la comptabilité nationale. On applique ce cadre à l’économie allemande en 2010. Le rapport entre la formule FLQ et le volume des échanges interrégionaux en produits intermédiaires, le volume des échanges interrégionaux dans les deux sens, et la distribution régionale des multiplicateurs des sorties est soulignée.
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG
Erweiterung der FLQ-Formel: ein auf dem Standortquotienten aufbauender, interregionaler Input–Output-Rahmen. Regional Studies. Die Regionalisierung von nationalen Input–Output-Tabellen bereitet in der Regionalwissenschaft erhebliche Probleme, da oft keine entsprechenden regionalen Daten zur Verfügung stehen. In diesem Beitrag wird ein Rahmen zur Schätzung von intra- und interregionalen Input–Output-Tabellen entwickelt. Die intraregionalen Schätzungen beruhen auf der bekannten FLQ-Methode. Die interregionalen Schätzungen werden mithilfe von Gravitationsmodellen erstellt, um Faktoren wie die geografische Distanz zwischen Regionen zu berücksichtigen. Die abgeleiteten (anfänglichen) Schätzungen werden in einen interregionalen Berechnungsrahmen eingebettet, der eine Übereinstimmung der regionalen Werte mit den nationalen Gesamtwerten gewährleistet. Dieser Rahmen wird auf die deutsche Wirtschaft von 2010 angewendet. Hierbei werden die Beziehung zwischen der FLQ-Formel und dem geschätzten Umfang des interregionalen Handels über Zwischenhändler, dem Umfang des interregionalen Cross-Haulings und der regionalen Verteilung von Output-Multiplikatoren hervorgehoben.

Fórmula FLQ ampliada: una estructura interregional de entradas y salidas basada en cocientes de localización. Regional Studies. La regionalización de las tablas nacionales de entradas y salidas es un problema importante en la ciencia regional debido a que muchas veces los datos regionales correspondientes no están disponibles. En este artículo se desarrolla un marco de trabajo para calcular las tablas intrarregionales e interregionales de entradas y salidas. Los cálculos intrarregionales se basan en un método bien conocido, el cociente de localización de Flegg (FLQ). Los cálculos interregionales se construyen con el modelo de gravedad para tener en cuenta factores como la distancia geográfica entre las regiones. Los cálculos derivados (iniciales) están integrados en una estructura de contabilidad interregional que asegura valores regionales coherentes con los valores totales nacionales. Esta estructura se aplica a la economía alemana de 2010. Se destaca la relación entre la fórmula FLQ y la cantidad estimada del comercio interregional entre intermediarios, la cantidad de transporte cruzado interregional y la distribución regional de multiplicadores de salida.
