When this article was first published in print and online, the following text contained errors which have now been amended in the both the print and online versions:

p. 160, 3rd paragraph, the text originally read as follows:

The average wage in Malaysia is RM3400/month while the minimum taxable income in Malaysia is RM50/month (Waikar, 2019).

This has now been amended to read:

The average wage in Malaysia is RM3400/month while the minimum taxable income in Malaysia is RM5000/month (Waikar, 2019).

p. 165, 1st paragraph, the following repetitive sentence has been removed:

Inasmuch as Liew lost marginally to current MCA President Wee Ka Siong, the decision to field him there not only allowed younger members to rise up the ranks but revealed the DAP’s willingness to have its established leaders contest against BN’s heavyweights.

p. 168, 3rd paragraph, the text originally read as follows:
