Centennial history of the Zoology Department, University of Cape Town, 1903–2003: A personal memoir

Abstract

The history of the Department of Zoology, UCT, is traced from its origins, through the headships of Arthur Dendy, John D. Gilchrist, Lancelot Hogben, Alan Stephenson, John Day and subsequent rotating headships, up to mid-2003. Major achievements, the growth of the Department and changes in direction over the years are noted. Soine anecdotal material is included.
