Some observations on Arthroderma uncinatum

Abstract

Five out of 7 isolates of Arthroderma uncinatum produced abundant cleistothecia on an oatmealsalts agar and also on sterile soil with children's hair. This demonstrated that unsterile soil is not essential as a substrate for the perfect state of this species. Some of the recombinants arising from a cross between a typical pigmented isolate and a fluffy non-pigmented one are described.
