Abstract
The distribution of Branchiostoma lanceolatum along the Norwegian coast is described. Its occurrence at the outermost part of the coast only is explained by scarcity of suitable localities in the inner parts of the fjords, as well as by difficulties in spreading against the main direction of the currents in the upper fjord layers.
