Karen Zilberstein

Karen Zilberstein, LICSW, is an Associate at the Five College Consortium and a practicing psychotherapist specializing in work with children and families. She is Clinical Director of the Northampton, Massachusetts chapter of A Home Within, a national nonprofit that provides pro bono psychotherapy for individuals who have experienced foster care. She has published numerous journal articles on child therapy, parenting interventions, the treatment of foster and adopted children, attachment, and complex trauma, and has coauthored a children’s book, Calming Stormy Feelings: A Child’s Introduction to Psychotherapy. Her blog, From Research to Practice, brings the latest research on parenting, child development, and therapeutic interventions to parents and human service professionals.
