Summary

In Vicia sativa species, hemagglutinins are only located in the seeds. They appear just as the development of the seed initiate and then, they regularly accumulate in the embryo axis and in cotyledons during the ripening stage. During germination hemagglutinins of the embryo axis disappear rapidly while the hemagglutinin content of cotyledons decrease gradualy until they are shed. In any case, hemagglutinins behaviour does not differ markedly from that of the soluble proteins bulk of the seed.
