Acknowledgements

Thanks are due to the staff members of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (Paris), who helped me a lot in the different visits carried out to Dejean’s collection: Thierry Deuve and Hélène Perrin, Azadeh Taghavian, curators at the Museum, and Olivier Montreuil. Photographs of type material were kindly provided by Christophe Rivier (MNHN). Antoine Mantilleri, editor and curator of Coleoptera, also helped with valuable suggestions. Two reviewers also indicated many valuable corrections.

The University of Murcia (Campus Mare Nostrum) and the Fundación Séneca de Murcia, project 19908/GERM/15 have granted my travels to Paris through the research group “Animal Phylogeny and Evolution”.
