External Sampling Tube Atomizer as a Means of Lowering Interferences in Electrothermal Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

Pages 63-74 | Received 23 Apr 1983, Accepted 30 Nov 1983, Published online: 06 Dec 2006

Abstract

An electrothermal atomizer is basically an atom vaport generator and an optical cell that should contain these vapors. With few exceptions1–6 most electrothermal atomizers produce and confine the atom cloud as a single step in the very chamber. If these functions can be separated in time and space, and a higher temperature can be ensured in the cell, significant accuracy improvements should be obtained.
