Abstract
Third-derivative spectrophotometry, with zero-crossing technique of measurement, has been used for the determination of two-component mixture of allethrin and piperonyl butoxide with overlapping spectral bands. Beer's low was followed over the concentration ranges 10–25 and 10–40 ug ml−1 of allethrin and piperonyl butoxide respectively.
The method, yielding accurate and precise results, has been satisfactorily applied to laboratory mixtures and to commercial formulations.
