Derek Schilling is Associate Professor of French and Cinema Studies at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, where he teaches twentieth-century French literature and film. The author of a study on theories of everydayness in the work of Georges Perec and a monograph on Eric Rohmer, he is completing a book on interwar literary representations of the Paris suburbs.
