Asymmetric Synthesis of (+)‐epi‐Cytoxazone

Abstract

The asymmetric synthesis of (+)‐epi‐cytoxazone, a stereoisomer of potent cytokine modulator cytoxazone, starting from anisaldehyde in six steps, is described. The required configuration was established via Sharpless kinetic resolution followed by the Mitsunobu reaction.
