Brine-Mediated Efficient Benzoylation of Primary Amines and Amino Acids

Abstract

Benzoylation of primary amines and amino acids is efficiently carried out in a brine solution using a stoichiometric amount of benzoyl chloride followed by trituration with aqueous saturated bicarbonate solution.
