Pages 371-376 | Received 03 Jun 2008, Published online: 22 Dec 2008

Abstract

Solanesyl oleate is reported to have more effective antiulcer properties than the contemporary antiulcer drugs, and it is synthesized in carbon dioxide at a pressure of 50 bar and 40 °C by condensation of oleyl chloride and solanesol. The formation of the product is conformed by NMR and HPLC. The reaction is conducted in subcritical carbon dioxide devoid of the usage of toxic organic solvents such as benzene and toluene.
