Oxidative Aromatization of Hantzsch 1,4-Dihydropyridines by H2O2/V2O5 at Room Temperature

Abstract

A mild and highly efficient synthetic method was developed for the aromatization of 1,4-dihydropyridines employing H2O2 and 5 mol% of V2O5. The reactions were carried out in CH3CN to give pyridine compounds in excellent yields.
