Abstract
This article describes a mild and efficient synthesis of N1 ,N5 ,N10 -tri-tert-butoxycarbonyl spermine from putrescine, with a 41% overall yield. The key steps include a Michael addition and Raney nickel (W-2) reduction. The advantages of this synthesis include a simple procedure, mild conditions, and good yields.
