Abstract

A Co(II)-catalyzed direct C3-selective C–H acyloxylation of indoles has been realized with tert-butyl peresters serving as both an acyloxy source and an oxidant. This reaction features highly C3 regioselectivity and good functional group tolerance, which provides a convenient and versatile approach to the construction of valuable 3-acyloxyindoles in moderate to excellent yields.
