Abstract

Tetrahydropyridines, one-pot five-component green synthesis from aldehydes, anilines, and β-keto esters by cyclo-condensation using polyaniline-zirconium oxide catalyst. It is an efficient protocol due to the simplicity in reaction conditions, simple catalyst generation, and excellent product yield. The catalyst can be effortlessly recovered from the reaction mixture and reused up to the seven catalytic cycles without losing substantial catalytic activity. The present protocol offers prominent advantages over other reaction conditions in terms of a simple workup procedure, exceptional atomic economy, affordability, and wide substrate scope.
