Abstract
Microwave irradiation of mixtures of 4-arylmethylene-2-phenyloxazol-5(4H)-ones and enaminocarbonyl compounds, in the absence of solvent, affords dihydropyridinone derivatives in quantitative yields. From 4-ethoxymethylene-2-phenyloxazol-5(4H)one and enaminocarbonyl compounds, pyridinone derivatives are obtained.
