Abstract
New simple estimators for the parameters of the extreme-value distribution, for use with censored data, are presented and are shown to have higher efficiency, in the case of light censoring (.8 ≤ r/n < 1.0), than previous simple estimators given by Engelhardt and Bain (1973, 1974) and Mann and Fertig (1975). Confidence intervals and significance tests based on these new estimators can also be obtained.
