Dynamic analysis and control of cotton-carding system

Abstract

In this paper, the control model of cotton-carding system has been evaluated for uniform carded web density. At first, transfer function of cotton-carding system has been analysed. Then with respect to the stability of the system, and to eliminate the steady-state error, a controller has been designed with a feedback to improve performance of transient state. For this aim, proportional, integral and proportional–integral controllers have been studied. The values of the best time constant have been calculated with stability condition. Results show that the proportional–integral controller can create the most stable state for this system model.
