Abstract
The Eleventh International Transport Theory Conference convened at Virginia Tech on May 22, 1989, the eleventh in a series beginning with the First National Transport Theory Conference in 1969. These conferences became international in scope commencing with the Fifth Conference in 1977, and provided a workshop in which the newest analytical and semi-analytical numerical techniques could be presented and critiqued. Summaries of many of these conferences have appeared in this Journal.1–8
