Abstract

A disease affecting periodontal tissue of cheek teeth of sheep in New Zealand has been described by CitationHart and MacKinnon (1958), CitationMacKinnon (1959), and by CitationArmstrong (1960) as paradontal disease. More recently, the condition has been investigated further on a number of properties in Otago and Southland and it has been found that, in addition to cheek teeth involvement, there are frequently similar lesions of periodontal tissue of incisor teeth of the same sheep. Many sheep on the same properties show incisor involvement only.
