Filaroides infections in wild ferrets (Mustela putorius) and stoats (Mustela erminea)

Abstract

Species of metastrongylid nematodes of the genus Filaroides have been recorded in various hosts throughout the worldCitation(1). In New Zealand, the only known species is Filaroides (= Oslerus) osleri, which occurs in wart-like nodules near the bifurcation of the trachea of the dogCitation(2).
