Early Iron Age and Kansyore Pottery: Finds from Gogo Falls, South Nyanza

Pages 133-145 | Published online: 26 Feb 2010

Abstract

The pottery first identified at Kansyore (Kantsyore) island in the Kagera river is believed to have been made by hunter-gatherers, but its chronology and associations are uncertain. The authors here maintain that two different entities have previously been included as ‘Kansyore’.

Mr Collett is a Ph.D. student at the University of Cambridge and Dr Robertshaw is Assistant Director of the British Institute.
