ABSTRACT
This section describes the use of psychoanalysis in an inpatient setting. One child’s analysis was conducted many decades ago and the emerging adult’s analysis was completed recently at Austen Riggs, an inpatient psychiatric facility.
Notes
1. Examples include the Allen Creek Preschool, the Hanna Perkins School, the Lindsley Park Community School, the Lucy Daniels School, the Little Missionary’s Day Nursery, the New School in the Heights, the Studio School, and the West End Day School.
2. In the 1960s and 1970s, child analysis was thought of as a last resort in public psychiatric hospitals, if it was thought of at all.
