Data concerning mycofloristic research carried out at the ‘Montecristo Island’ Natural Reserve, an important naturalistic area of Tuscany, are reported. From a mycological point of view the Montecristo Island turns out relatively unexplored. Until today only eight microfungi have been cited. The present research brought to the identification of 73 epigeous macromycetes species. Some were of large ecological range, others preferably linked to a particular habitat or plant species. Between the species recorded some have to be considered rare or however little distributed. From a mycological point of view Montecristo island can be considered a zone of transition between the coastal areas of Tuscany and the ones of the Sardinia Island.
