Abstract

In brief: Although cardiac rehabilitation has become increasingly popular, only 15% of eligible candidates participate in supervised and monitored programs. For a variety of reasons, these programs are not feasible for the vast majority of patients. Consequently, alternative approaches to traditional cardiac rehabilitation—including home-based programs—need to be considered.
